“Storm” is a driving anthem, a visceral call to action that speaks to the current state of the world. Initially inspired by a California forest fire (interestingly, a few months before the Camp Fire tragedy in Paradise), the song acknowledges how the challenges we face have created a storm that we can no longer ignore. An intimate acoustic intro quickly swells with electric guitar, African percussion, and soaring female vocals. "Storm" is the advance single from folk/soul duo Joselyn & Don's debut album "Soar."

Lyrics

Every time I turn it on, the troubles of the world turn me out
Bleeding love like the saddest song, leaving me despair and doubt
I keep some distance between those eyes and mine, so I can get through the day
Easy to do when I’ve got skies of blue, but now the storm is heading our way

Where do we run to, when paradise is burning
Scorching the hills of the home I used to know
How can we hold on, with the flood water rising
Where do we go now, that the storm has reached our shore

Every time I turn it on, the people of the world turn me out
Trouble comes and they stand so strong, voices raised with a single shout
I know we’ll get through this darkest night, we can weather any storm
What do we do with tomorrow’s light, will we build a better home?

Where do we run to, when paradise is burning
Scorching the hills of the home I used to know
How can we hold on, with the flood water rising
Where do we go now, that the storm has reached our shore

If we gonna rise, we gotta rise together
If we gonna dream, we gotta dream it bigger
If we gonna live, we gotta live together
Pick up the pieces and build something worth living in, oh yeah
Pick up the pieces and build something worth living in, oh yeah

Where do we run to, when paradise is burning
Scorching the hills of the home I used to know
How can we hold on, with the flood water rising
Where do we go now, that the storm has reached our shore
Where do we go now, that the storm has reached our shore
